Jean Betances (Corner Lake Middle School)
I AM Honorable
“During our scrimmage on Saturday, January 27, we experienced high wind gusts throughout the day. My team’s tents were taking a beating and, at one point, blew over and took out several of our bows and a bow rack. Without hesitation, Jean came rushing to our aid. He was helping put the tent right, grab equipment and personal items from our team that were blowing away, and checking to make sure we and our equipment were alright; even though we were on opposing teams. He was not directed by his coach or anyone else, he acted on his own accord. Jean embodies the ideals of sportsmanship and honor, and I believe is the exact representation of the I Am An Archer Program.”
