Register Now for 2013 CA State Championships!
The California OAS League will be holding it’s State Championships with the Cal State Long Beach Archery Team! This event will bring archers from both the Los Angeles and San Diego Conferences together for an exciting day of competition.
All archers are welcome to compete in the morning ranking round. In the afternoon, schools may submit 10 archers. Four will compete in the Olympic Round (head to head matches) event, and the other six will compete in team rounds. Both events will be occurring at the same time. Therefore these archers must choose which event they will be competing in.
WHERE: Cal State Long Beach. Note that there is a $5 charge for parking in any lot on campus.
The tournament is being held on Soccer B Field. The closest parking is at LOT 12 Student Parking. For an address, you can drive to the Carpenter Performing Arts Center (6200 East Atherton Street, Long Beach, CA 90815). Another landmark to look for is the large blue pyramid (Walter Pyramid).
WHEN: Saturday, May 25th
ENTRY FEE : $15 per archer. Entry fee to be paid on site. Checks made out to Long Beach State Archery Club (LBSAC).
FORMS: Photo Release Forms and Waiver Forms – please bring completed forms to the event. Forms will be available online soon.
SCHEDULE:
8 am – check-in
9 am – official practice
9:30 am – ranking round
11:30 am – lunch, All School Team Competition, and awards
1pm-5pm – Olympic Round and Team Round (both events will be occurring at the same time)
COMPETITION SUMMARY:
Ranking Round
36 arrows, 12 ends of 3 arrows, 2 minutes per end
Awards for top 4 in each division
Olympic Round
Each match is 12 arrows (4 ends of 3). 2 minutes are given for each end of 3 arrows.
Separate bracket for girls and boys.
Archers ranked according to ranking round scores and then put into single elimination bracket.
Team Round
Each match is 24 arrows (4 ends of 6 arrows, 2 minutes per end). Each archer shoots 2 arrows per end and they must shoot one at a time. Standard team round rules apply.
Mixed gender teams.
All-School Team Match
All-School team match follows the league competition format
This team is selected at each Conference Championships and is comprised of the top two boys and girls from the OR’s and the top two team rounds.
All-school team ranked according to total ranking score of all archers
RULES:
There will be four divisions: boys/girls — High School/Middle School
High School shoots 18 meters
Middle School shoots 9 meters
All archers shoot at an 80m target face
Archers must bring their own equipment. Archers need at least 6 arrows (extra are recommended).
Standard OAS equipment must be used (riser, limbs, and arrows; other components may be changed)
USAA dress code enforced however blue denim (jeans) will be accepted
