Follow TEAM USA Archers in the 2012 Olympic Games!

This is a really exciting time for the US Olympic Archery Team! With the London games just around the corner, this is a great time to see how you can follow the team as they compete for Olympic gold next month.

The road to London began back in September at the first leg of the Olympic Trials at Texas A&M. There the field was narrowed down to the top 16 men and women. The 2nd stage at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA cut the field down to the top 8. Finally at the Colorado Springs Training center earlier this month, our 3 men and 3 women were chosen who would represent the US at the games.

However, their journey was not over yet. Last year at the World Championships, the men earned all three spots for London, however the women were only able to secure one. Their last chance to earn the other two spots was this past week a the 3rd Stage of the World Cup in Ogden, Utah. It came down to a one arrow shoot-off, but the women did it and came out with a gold and the other two spots for London!

So this year the US will be sending a complete team of 3 men and 3 women to the 2012 London Games. The competition will begin on July 27th with the ranking round. The team matches will be on July 28th and 29th. Lastly the individual matches will go from July 30th to August 3rd.
